Having started his career within the NHS, David gained valuable experience in a variety of settings. During this time David also worked for Hockey Wales, the Cardiff Red Devils Ice Hockey and Newbridge Rugby Club. David’s first taste of full time sports physiotherapy was when he joined his much loved Gwent Dragons (Dragons) rugby club as one of the physiotherapists for the senior squad. David then went on to do his Masters in sports and exercise physiotherapy at Cardiff University.
In 2008 David gained full time employment with Glamorgan County Cricket Club as their first team physiotherapist. Alongside this David was able to continue as lead physiotherapist for the senior squad at the Welsh Netball Association and the netball super league franchise team Celtic Dragons.
David bowed out of these roles on starting up and growing his new venture in 2011, now known as Agile. Since establishing Agile David has completed his Masters, been a volunteer sports physiotherapist at the 2012 London Olympics, worked with Cardiff MCCU cricket academy, toured with the men’s Welsh Schools football team and headed up the Newport County AFC Academy Medical team.
Since being at the helm of Agile David has completed a level 4 and 5 diploma in leadership and business management and aims to achieve his level 7 in due course. More recently David has completed the renowned Mini MBA certification in Marketing.
David is a firm family man and while he’s not being taxi for his 3 kids he can be found being beaten at tennis (by his wife and kids). Running with the Agile Run Club is also a favourite pastime for David. David used to play hockey for Whitchurch Hockey (admittedly his greatest attribute to this sport was running after the ball while tentatively wielding a stick) yet he still loves to support the local hockey scene. Another little known fact is that David used to play Australian Rules Football (AFL) for The Cardiff Panthers Australian Rules. David’s claim to fame was being captain of the national team, Cymru Dragons and representing Great Britain Bulldogs on the European and World stage.
